Snow White, Rose Red

Rose Eye's

What get's added in the Eye's of Rose, is that she is this social kind of person. She loves to talk to other people.

I feel that Rose at first wasn't actually comfortable with the guy with the beard being there with them. But after a while, it seems that Rose began to be more open for conversations, gotten to know the guy better.

In Rose's perspective, being the youngest out of the two, she would be more of a follower with her big sister.

Almost a 300

This Friday was the closest that I had ever came to get a 300 in bowling. I had the first 10 strikes in a row and I knew deep down in the pity of my stomach that I was going to do get a 300. I told everyone before hand that if this does happen that no one is gong to watch me while I bowl. And what does everyone do, hover around where I bowl and watches me. I went up to the approach, getting ready to shoot what maybe the greatest shots of my life. I've waiting for this day for about four years. I went to go and throw the ball and my nerves shot threw the roof and the ball went straight into the gutter ball. My team, my family and myself couldn't believe what happened. I guess it was too stressful and I was pretty nervous. It was so upsetting to think that it took me four years to get up to this point and just come down on myself because of a few nerves that were shot. But my parents were still proud of me that I accomplished what I did, and I guess in a way I'm proud of myself too.

Book talk

I took on the task of getting the extra credit in the class by going to the book talk. Before I heard the book talk, I thought it was going to be some person coming in and trying to persuade everyone to buy her book, in a way she did, but it wasn't like any other book talk that I went to. She started talking about her grandfather back in World War II and how that black soldiers were being segregated and talking about how the Cuban's were being segregated by the blacks. She also talked about her childhood, how her family has a lot of knowledge but were very poor, so it was pretty hard for her to follow her dreams, because everyone wanted her to get a job that would support herself and her family one day. But she told herself and to everyone that if you believe in something, you should go off and do and work very hard to achieve your dream. I found the talk to be very influential and very inspiring. It makes you feel that if you have a dream, just work very hard at never give up on your dream.

The challenge

So my friend is training for this triathlon this summer. And he knows that I'm this big running and biking kind of person. Last Saturday he wanted to see if I can train with him if I have time, and I said sure. We started as soon as I said yes. My friend and I started at Presque Isle and rode on the coast line going toward Harvey and rode back toward the city. And after 3 long hours of riding, we ended back toward the island. I'm assuming for a triathlon we run after riding, but for my friend, they're was a catch. After biking over twenty five miles, we ended up swimming an additional 7 miles around the coast line. I was glad that my friend called me up so that I can help him train, but what I found to be the most enjoyable thing is that my friend acknowledges  me not only as a runner and biker guy, but also as an inspiration to him. He just wants to do something that he can remember for the rest of his life. I'm glad that I can be apart of his journey to success.

Meeting Picnic

Had a good time today with my Y staff family members. Food was fantastic, I was shocked of how much different food creations were there. There was some foods that I didn't even know that even existed, such as moose teriyaki on a stick, it was delicious. The meeting picnic really reminded of me why I started working at the Y. The connections between people that walk into the Y, whether it was regulars, or it's beginning newcomers, we have great connections with the Y members and the people in the community. It's a blessing to have embarked in the journey with the Y staff in this past year and a half.

Bowling league

Last night during league was fantastic. I bowled ten strikes in a row thinking that I was going to bowl my first 300 game. But of course the nerves got to me of course, ending up getting a seven ten split in the eleventh frame and ending up getting a 283. See I realized something last night, is that even if my nerves got to me, I never gave up from that. I kept going on further in the league, and in the end I averaged 215. My highest average in my whole life, and boy I was so happy about that.

Fall

Marquette is one of the most beautiful towns in the upper peninsula. Especially during fall. The temperature is cooling down, the leaves are changing, it can't get any better then this. Oh yeah, it can be. Just go hike up sugar loaf mountain. Once you get to the top, it get a thousand times better. I was just up there a couple days ago in the evening time. Boy does the sunset really reflect off the different color leaves, it was just incredible. That's why I choose to stay here, well you guys of course.

Wild Cats Won

Wow, what a football game that the Wild Cats performed last night. There were a lot of really good plays that was done by the quarter backs. I would have to give a shout to do the receivers that had some fantastic catches that was played in the first quarter. The defend players also did awesome out there too, if it wasn't for our defense, we wouldn't had done the things that was done last night. I would have to say sorry for the players that got injured last night. You guys have played awesome, and you guys are awesome. But most of all, I would have to give a shout out for the players and the marching band for both excellent performance.

Friendship

On January 1st will be 11 years ago since my closest friend Shane and I became friends. I can remember the first time Shane and I became friends. We were in Second Grades and Shane and I were both pretty shy and nervous. During snack time, Shane was trading Yugi-Oh cards with other kids, and I was happy because I remembered that I had a tub filled with Yugi-Oh cards. So the next day around snack time, I had some cards and Shane seen that had some cards too, and that's when we both knew that we were going to be lifelong friends. That's an understatement, there was a lot to it of how we became friends, but that's all I can remember. It's awesome, how the little things change how two people can become really close friends. And we are still very close friends today.

Trevors blog- Arguments

I'm not the kind of person that would get into some big arguments, but this one I will never forget for the rest of my life. Now I'm not the person that really talks about politics and I don't really pay attention what goes on in our political system. But my friend is really big in politics and knows whats going on. One day we were watching T.V. and the news was on and my friend wanted to see whats going on. The topic was gay marriage and pushing to legalize gay marriage. Now I got to tell you, my friend is very religious and he doesn't believe in that stuff. He was saying that it's a sin of people want to legalize gay marriage, and I told why not, everyone has the same rights no matter if people are gay or not. All of a sudden he yells at me about agreeing to gay marriage. I tried to calm him down and to talk to him about, but he wouldn't stop, so I had to tell him to leave. I was very upset because in our six years of being friends we fought like that. So I went to his house and tried to talk to him. He still wouldn't talk to me, because what I said. I told that everyone has they're own opinion about things. For hours talking that I don't want to get into, but we ended up relieving our issues and the fight is over. I wasn't going to let six years of being best friends change because of some topic on the news.

College

College so far has been a blast. Even though that I'm in the block, I feel that it's a big advantage for us freshmen, such as meeting the same people for all of our classes, and get to know each other very well for only a short amount of time. I mean college as a lot of things to offer. All you can eat meals for a reasonable price. Different clubs and sports that anyone can try out. I mean it's just and incredible experience. And I hope these experiences will influence me to pursue in a life long career, which I don't know what I want to do yet.

Over 30 miles

On Friday, September 4th, I finally accomplished my goal, I biked 34.5 miles, boy how hard that was. I started at Presque Isle, if some people don't know where that's at it's on the Island right by the Ore doc. I ended riding around Marquette and riding toward Harvey and I finished wright back at the Island. It took me two hours and forty five minutes. I was so exhausted after that journey, my parents was so proud of me. Finally accomplished my goal before the snow dropped.

Blues Fest

Had a wonderful time at the Blues fest today. It was my sisters first time going to a blues fest, but they still had a good time. The music was fantastic, despite the people that I saw was very rude and making mean looks at me. But other than that my family and I had a really good time.
